Congratulations to our Graduating Seniors!

Dear Sound FC 2020 Graduates:

It is with great affection, and with the support of our entire Sound FC community, that I wish all of you a very heartfelt congratulations on your graduation!

Due to developments over the past few months, some may always refer to the Class of 2020 as the “Quarantine Class.”  I would find it much more appropriate, however, to refer to this fine group of young adults as the only class capable of taking on the challenges that befell society; all of you have the strength, the determination and the resilience to have faced down a global enemy and come out stronger than ever before.  And while the end of your senior year (and your final year of youth soccer) will at times be remembered for events outside your control, I am confident that all of you looked at it as an opportunity to better yourselves and those around you.  For you may have been influenced by what has transpired over the past few months, but you can choose to never be defined by it.

The world is a much different place than it was when you began your youth soccer careers.  In fact, the world is a much different place than it was just a few short months ago.  The one constant is that the world which you are about to take on is one that is ready for change.  You have the power to implement that change.  You have all the tools necessary to build something better for the next generation of young SFC players that will look to you for guidance and leadership.  And, importantly, you will always have a community of fellow players, staff and coaches here at SFC that will be here should you need us.  We are Sound FC.

I challenge each of you to find a way to change the world…one positive, selfless act at a time.

“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”

– James Baldwin

We will always be so proud of your accomplishments on and off the field.  You have represented your club, your schools and your entire community with passion, resourcefulness and courage.  You were chosen to take on the challenges of 2020 and now are more prepared than ever to chase your dreams.

Congratulations to all of you.  Good luck and GO SOUND FC!

Best regards,
Sound Football Club
